Programs The Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County & Lower Arkansas Valley provides a safe place for children to go after school and during the summer. Our six full-service Centers offer programs in six core service areas: Career and Life Planning: To enable boys and girls to pursue careers that will provide them with economic autonomy and to enable them to integrate a rewarding career in to their lives as family members. Health and Sexuality: To enable girls and boys to take charge of developing and maintaining fit, healthy bodies and to function comfortable as responsible sexual beings. Leadership and Community Action: To enable boys and girls to exercise personal and collective power effectively and responsible, and to enable them to analyze and contribute to positive changes in the community, nation and world. Sports and Adventure: To enable girls and boys to compete and cooperate with confidence, to take physical risks, and to master a range of physical skills. Self-Reliance and Life Skills: To enable boys and girls to conquer life's basic challenges in areas both traditional and nontraditional, and to prepare them to function independently and interdependently today and in the future. Culture and Heritage: To enable girls and boys to appreciate their own and other's heritage, to enjoy diverse forms of creative expression, and to recognize the contributions of men and women in history and culture. |
