Mission The mission of the Boys & Girls Club/Girls Inc. of Pueblo County & Lower Arkansas Valley is to effectively meet the needs of youth, to help them overcome the effects of disadvantaged circumstances and to develop their capacities to be self-sufficient, responsible members of the community; and to serve as vigorous advocates for youth, focusing attention on the special needs of girls and the special needs of boys. Accountability Statement The Board for Directors and Program Support Services approach their fiduciary duties with utmost responsibility. Monthly Finance Committee meetings ensure that the Club operates in the black and follows generally accepted accounting standards. The Club is affiliated with Girls Incorporated and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, ensuring state-of-the-art programs on youth development. The affiliations contribute to the positive growth of our members and the professional growth of our corporation. Funding The 2005 annual budget was $1,940,398, of which 30% is provided through annual Club fund raising activities, foundations, and individual's gifts. United Way funding represents approximately 2% of the total budget, 18% donated facilities and 28% comes from the City and County. The State of Colorado provides 1% of the budget and 21% comes from federal grants. Services To The Community Members participate in community service projects, including Tom & Louie's Cupboard Thanksgiving Food Drive, river trail clean-ups recycling program and etc. |
